AMERICA AND I

I am now a permanent resident in the US, what can I do now that I couldn’t before?
You can now:
  1. Own and run your own business without restriction.
  1. Work for any employer and as many employers as you wish that don’t require US citizenship.
  1. Travel without a visa to countries that recognize permanent residence in lieu of your nation of origin (i.e. Canada, the Caribbean).
  1. Own firearms with little or no restriction and obtain permits to carry just as citizens can.
  1. Enlist in the US military.
  1. Not have to worry about providing documentation to renew or maintain status with USCIS save for telling them when you move.
  1. Be eligible to naturalize as a US citizen when you meet the requirements.
  1. Purchase property as a US resident rather than as a foreign national with better terms and options.
